Boston Fashion Week - Reina Valentina Fashion Show - Rock Royalty
There was glitz and glamour with a little edge throughout this sophisticated scene. The Reina Valentina Fashion Show was everything that guests had expected, and more. The evening started off with a bit of socializing as people sipped from their champagne flutes and admired the view of Seaport from the top of the beautiful VIA Seaport Residences as the sun set over Boston. Close to 400 guests awaited the presentation of the Rock Royalty Fall Collection.
Every season Reina Valentina finds quality pieces from female designers and socially conscious brands to curate fashion forward collections for the professional woman. This season the trend showcased was Rock Royalty. This collection featured some menswear inspired blazers, feminine bias cut skirts, floral prints on subdued silhouettes all with a little bit of glitz. You could find a little gold detail or pinstripe on many of the pieces. All of the pieces could be mixed and matched for the office and transformed for an evening out.
The theme was off white, black, gold and navy blue. You could see this in every detail of the show including the dessert bar and the step and repeat which consisted of a flower wall edged in a gold frame by Party Perfect. As various bloggers, lifestyle influencers and fashionistas flocked to the Insta-worthy flower wall with their phones in hand ready to strike a pose, some guests looked through the clothing rack and got an in-person sneak peek of the Rock Royalty Collection.
Other guests were sure to hit up the dessert bar that included a beautiful tiered cake with splashes of gold and black on a white background with a beautiful cake topper with the Reina Valentina logo, by Ilmspirations that crowned the cake. Black, white and gold candy and cupcakes flanked the cake. The logo embellished macarons by Miam Miam Mac were such a big hit that the photographers couldn’t even get to them fast enough to get a shot in.
Up on the sixth floor, the smell of hairspray and curling irons filled the air as the models slipped into their outfits. Tiffany Cantin and her team from Six Bay Road Salon spent hours making sure each model was runway-ready. At one point, Farhana Cannon, the founder of Reina Valentina, called all the girls into the room and she began describing their planned entrance. After an in-depth description of how the show will go and a quick pep talk, the models started getting crowned with My Pink Planet’s elaborate, gilded crowns featuring semi-precious stones.
As the sun went down, the party was just getting started. Once the clock neared 7:30, guests made their way outside to find tacos being made-to-order right in front of them. The sound of the electric violinist was accompanied by amicable chatter as people sipped on their Pricklee (prickly pear super fruit water) and 4Pure lemonade cocktails. Dj Alcide set the tone and you could find guests dancing throughout the night. After all what is a good party without some good music and dancing. Soon, the models, led by Farhana, made their way downstairs and into the crowd to greet all the guests. The music got louder and the crowd cleared a path for the fashion show to officially begin.
It started off with a beautiful ballet performance which helped set the tone. As the models began strutting down the runway, the sea of cell phone lights captured every moment. All at once, Snapchat and Instagram became cluttered with videos and live-streams of the show as it happened in real time. To finish off, Farhana lead her models back down the runway for a finale walk.
The room erupted in excited chatter and amazement at the spectacle that everyone had just witnessed. Many of the guests rushed over to the clothing rack, eager to try on pieces of the collection and purchases some of their favorite items. As guests drank the last of the champagne, they made sure to pick up a piece of cake and a gift bag on their way out. After socializing for a bit after the show, many of the VIPs made their way to the after party at The Grand.
The gift bags consisted of free passes to Equinox gym, Everybody Fights, CorePower Yoga. A free laser treatment at Lumiere Laser Center. Discounts on services from Six Bay Road Salon, Wholebody Solutions & Face Facts Healing Spa. Special treats were included from KIND Healthy Snacks and Unreal chocolates.
