NYFW Fall/Winter 2018 Color Trends

Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone, leaving us in awe of the stylistically runway presentations and idiosyncratic designs and inspirations. From floral to animal prints, fall/winter 2018 trends are nothing but bright and bold, combining classicism with colorful expression.

It's a new era for fashionistas  because there are various non-traditional color palettes showing up in the runways. These unexpected hues reconstruct the seasonal color story, give individuality and creativity that move fashion forward. Even though mixing unexpected colors can result in a statement style, we are also seeing colors for Fall/Winter 2018 similarly powerful standing alone. Needless to say, these striking shades are strong enough in their own right and are being maneuvered to create very specific color statements on their own.

VALIANT POPPY

L-R: Carolina Herrera, Carolina Herrera, Anna Sui, Oscar de la Renta

If there's one color that I choose to wear for the rest of my life, it would be power red. It is a color that never goes out of style. It is assertive, confident, and outgoing. Most importantly, it is what a woman stands for. This color palette is going to continue to have a major moment in 2018.

Quetzal Green

L-R: Carolina Herrera, Anna Sui, Marissa Web, Carolina Herrera

This blue-green is being seen all over the runway, establishing itself as a must-have color in our wardrobe. That's right, I am so looking forward to afternoon tea wearing this not-so-ordinary hue. The mellow teal just screams sophistication and elegance.  Whether in prints or not, Quetzal Green is here to bring your #ootd to new heights.

CEYLON YELLOW

L-R: Bottega Veneta, Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Sui, Oscar de la Renta

Behold, Ceylon Yellow is here to stay. It is a fearless shade that demands attention, and adds essence to the spice of life. Well, it is not your typical color to wear on the streets, but isn't fashion for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying out new things?

NEBULAS BLUE

L-R: Diane von Furstenberg, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenberg

All shades of blue are always my favorite. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them now on the runways. Now then, I can finally wear my all-time best-loved hue without being bashful about it. Call me extra but it's always prettier in prints.

BLACK & WHITE

L-R: Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung

You can't go wrong with black and white. We're seeing these two classic colors over and over again on the runways, because they are so perfect for any occasion and easy to match. After all those bold and striking colors, maybe it's time to calm down with these neutral shades.

AND IT'S A WRAP! NOW ONTO LONDON FASHION WEEK...
